#CD-ROM Exibition??

The conference is focussed on the issues of publishing (as opposed to
using) CDROM, on the use of multimedia in publishing (as opposed to the
bits and bytes of developing software) and so forth. If you are planning
to publish, expecially commercially, I recommend it. The exhibits are
useful, but the conference portion will give you info about the experience
of publishers using the vendors' products, as opposed to just sales
pitches.

Now perhaps you could help further. I am interested in CD-ROM as an
end-user and I write about CD-ROM for Canadian computer publications aimed
at end-users.
That is I write more for people interested in the "WOW" of CD-ROM than in
the "HOW" of CD-ROM.
My impression from your answer is that the CD-ROM Expo would be of limited
value. Is that a fair assessment? Would the exhibit be of value, do you
think? Thanks and cheers!
Expo is a producer's conference. However there will be vendors (like
Educorp) on the exhibit floor. I think an exhibits-only pass is something
like $30.
The best places for customers to go are the conferences that serve their
other information needs. Eg., lawyers to law conferences, docs to medical
conferences etc. General interest I recommend the MacWorld shows, or
PC-Expo or even the new consumer days at COMDEX.
CDROM is a **publishing** medium, and therefore the subject matter is of
prime importance, not the technology (anymore, anyhow).
