PDDraw3 install problems

I've recently bought PDraw3 and had great difficulty in installing it on my
hdisk. A friend who bought the upgrade direct from GD had exactly the same
problem.
Click on the install icon and select a partition and new drawer. Great.
Click on proceed and all the string gadgets are ghosted and the program
hangs. It doesn't crash the Amiga but does need a reboot. Nothing we did
would persuade the install prog to work so we did it by hand. Not easy.

What is your system config? We have had some problems utilizing Commodores
install program, but that was if the path had a space somewhere in the name
(ie: WorkBench: <ok Work Bench: <problems)…all would install ok,
except for the executable itself.
The problem was easily corrected by removing the space from the name (I
seem to remember way-back-when that CBM and their dealers warned of spaces
in file names).

I use an A3000 with 6mbs ram etc otherwise nothing out of the ordinary.
My sys partition is called WB_2.X as is usual and PDraw lives in dh2:
Thats about it. Ummm…what about writing a straight forward script that
can run via iconx?
