Sherwood- I'm using the Targa+ to output my AAPro animations to tape one frame at a time. Like you say, it's OK but not great. Have you compared the Mediator vs. the T+. If you feel that it is considerably better output, I would be interested in sending you a short .flc for you to output to svhs. I could then compare that with the output from my T+. I'm always looking for ways to improve my output, and lately we've been doing alot of 2D (cel) work. Just now getting time to get back to the 3D stuff and play with all of the new toys in R2. Thanks. -Mark

i find the mediator to be better in that it has a host of adjustments that can be done right there on the mediator befor i go to tape. i have both the targa + and the mediator and i would go with the mediator if you have a sample flc that you would like to be dumped to svhs this way then send it on down, be glad to do it for free. just email it to me or if its to big for that then let me know and i will get you my business address. sherwood

Sherwood, I'll soon be in the market for a 24-bit color board like the Targa+ for animations in promotional videos I occasionally produce. I noted your expressed preference for the Mediator board. I'm somewhat familiar with Targa+ literature, but not the Mediator. Could you supply me with (or point me toward a source for) more information on that? Sherwood- Why don't you get me your address. The file I'm thinking of is not all that big, but that way I can send you a tape to put it on so you won't have to take one out of your stock. Thanks for the offer, I'm interested in seeing the difference. -Mark

sherwood, I am also trying to output from Animator Pro to tape. I noticed that you referenced the Mediator. Are you talking about the Mediator scan converter from VideoLogic? If not, who makes this equipment? Thanks for any help, Bill

If you can wait until November "HiColor" magazine will be doing a test of VGA-NTSC cards and converters. Should be enlightening.

VGA to NTSC cards are also on the PC Magazine list of coming attractions.
