I'm planning to buy an Amiga 4000 to use it with a toaster The dealer i have contacted gives me a very good price for the computerwith theb 68030 processor What would I What do I loose if |chose this processor instead of the 68040?

An awful lot of speed. The 68040 is 2-3 times as fast as the 68030 at the s same clock speed. Other than that, they're identical. Bob

Doesn't the 4000/030 use and EC030, meaning that you'd also lose MMU? That'd mean you lose virtual memory tools like GigaMem, developer tools like enforcer (which is also a good thing to have with a bridgeboard), etc. Dale Larson – An Amiga Software Engineer with some time on his hands.
