Hi Everyone,
I bought an A1000 resently with the rejuvenator 1 meg version, and I'm
not able to get it to work under 2.04 roms, if I connect any of my A1000
expansion devices. I contacted Expert Services and they recomended that I
do the motherboard grounding, and the Ground loop fix. But I'm having
trouble locating all the recomended points that I need, like the ferrite
bead connecting to +5V.
I also need to know which pins of the U2I and U2J are pin 8 and pin 16.
any help will be appreciated.

I have the Rejuvenator, the 2.04 ROM, and I have a SCSI interface
with no trouble. Maybe faster or slower PALs might help. I know in the
past, PAL changes were used to fix some problems.

James, if you remove the daughterboard,(BTW, you may want to pay a dealer to do
this…..!) you will see the chips marked. Look closely at the chips; you will
see that one corner is either notched, or marked with a dot or other
identifying mark. That is pin 1.If the mark is just in the middle of the chip,
the #1 pin is the pin on the left, at that end (this is looking at the chip
overhead, with the printing showing. )
Perhaps you really need a more complete check of the board. Did it work
correctly with the 1.3 ROMs? Do the expansion devices work with the 1.3 roms?
Get back to us and we'll brainstorm some more. Many A1000's just couldn't
handle more than two devices. The Rej'or is a fine piece of work, but may not
be well… And also check your power supply, it may be suffering…Alas. But
parts are cheap for the A1000 now!

I'll second that about letting a dealer do it. The only daughter board
in a rejuvenated 1000 is the Rej. itself. If you take it out, the
motherboard has to come out to put the two back togeather.

Even if James doesn't pay a dealer to remove the daughter board, he would
well be advised to pay to have it (or the Rejuvenator board replacement)
replaced. The though of lining up about a zillion pins and pushing down
hard and praying that one doesn't get terminally bent still brings me out
in a cold sweat 🙂
