Where is the .FLC file format documented? Do I need some sort of developer's kit from Adesk? If so, how much does it cost and how do I order it? Thanks. Bailey

Dr. Dobbs's journal had a Flic player called READFLIC that I downloaded and modified to suit my needs. It reads not only .FLC files but also the older 320×200 .FLI files for compatability. The code was meant to be ultra-portable, but you should be able to trim out all the useless stuff and squeeze the code into one module. Reading and playing a FLC is actually pretty simple… Jesse

Jesse, there is also a very complete article written by Jim Kent the author of Animator and the author of the flic file format in the March issue of Dr. Dobbs that accompanied the code. jonas[adesk]

Bailey, I've been researching this and I've found that you can't order it through the same channel as the Windows Playerer develop kit. Call 415-332-2344 and ask for Chris Alis. He's the Multimedia Software Developer's contact. He can set any of you up with an autodesk developer status is you qualify. In addition, you can order software like the 3ds File tool kit, the Animation Support Libraries, the Poco Reference Manual, the Poco 1.3 addendum to the Reference manual and the ever popular 3D Studio IPAS toolkit. He's been in India for a few weeks and will be back in his office tomorrow. If you leave a message and you don't hear from him, *call again*.

Bailey, in addition to my previous message, you're looking for the Animation Support Libraries – FlicLib Reference as compared to the poco programers out there who would want the Animation Support Libraries – Poco Executable Reference. jonas[adesk]
