Can anyone recommend optimum Printer Preferences settings for use with a
Canon PJ1080a?

I like Deluxe Video III. I haven't tried any others, but DVideo III is
easy to use and works well with DPaint III, my favorite paint program. You
can use the cell animations (anims) that you make in DPaint in your videos
and music from almost any music program.
With DVideo can you actually make animatios or do you just tie animations
together to form a presentation?

You do have to own DPaint III to make the actual animations. With DVideo
you p put together the different elements of your video such as music,
instruments, pictures, sounds, instruments, brushes etc. and you set the
time and duration o of these elements. I find it useful for my purposes.

I need something that will let me create animations and add sound to them.
Then, it must be able to play and put them on video with an encoder.

You need both DPaint III and DVideo III (along with a music program like
Sonix or Deluxe Music Construction Set or Instant Music, and a sound
digitizer with software.) Deluxe Video III also allows you to play MIDI
instruments along w with your videos as well as Amiga instruments. You
need at least one meg of ram to use these programs. The new Super Agnus
chip is also a great help.

Gosh, Paddy, I don't know. Does the Director allow sounds and music? Does
it work with DPaint III? I've never used Director. The thing I like about
Deluxe Video is that it allow me to use anims and anim brushes from my
favorite paint program and it has a friendly user interface. You just move
pointers around and don't have to type anything.
Yeah, thats how director works, but with a script language interface
(yuk!). What I am really looking foe is a good program to create animations
with that also supports sound.

Is there a way to convert a gif to 640 x 480 x 4096 DRES OR Sham pic ?
I noticed that all the shams that I convert are always 320 x 400. Granted
this is better than looking at a GIF, a 640 x 400 or higher would be
better. I have DigiView, but only 1 meg of memory.

ASDG's The Art Department will do what you want, but not in 1 meg of
memory.

I have a 2000 with 3 megs, but only 512k chip ram. How will TAD work
with that amount of ram? And….I'm in the Toronto area….do you know if
anyone is selling TAD north of the border yet?
I like to convert images back & forth from different formats, and
from what I can see, TAD would be of help to me…

I use two Sony EV-S3000 Hi8 decks and the Sony R5 S-VHS. MediaPhile certainly
works with the Toaster and SunRize sound cards. Your best bet is to call
Interactive MicroSystems directly at (603) 898-3545 (NH). Try to talk with Jim
Rickman if you can get hold of him. He will answer all of your questions. If
you tell me where you are located, I also have a list of his dealers and might
come up with a local person to talk to. My experience is to talk to Rickman
himself.
I'm located in Minneapolis. If you come up with any locals dealers, let me
know where to find them. In the mean time I will try to get in touch with Jim

I don't have any listings for MN but you might try B&H Photo in NYC who have a
800 # — 800-932-1977. I still think you will be better off calling
Interactive MicroSystms directly. Usually the dealers don't know that much
about the program. Good luck.

I use two Sony EV-S3000 Hi8 decks and the S-VHS Sony R5. I shoot in Hi8,
immediately lay SMPTE TC on the left PCM audio channel and copy my tapes to
cheaper Hi8 tapes. I use the copies for editing purposes to save wear on the
originals, then master from the originals to Pro Beta. The time codes are
identical on the copies, so it is easy to work with.

Two I know of that support this VCR are VideoDirector and Mediaphile.
Both also offer control through a V-box.
