Don't feel Bad Mike, I've been having ALOT of 30 minutes per frame rendering times lately. And this is for a 5100 frame Anim, I am NOT happy. But this is Imagine not Lightwave and Hopefully next month when the new version of Imagine apppears it'll render a bit faster or maybe this Anim will be done.

Peter says: 30 minutes per frame rendering times lately. And this is for a 5100 frame Anim, I am NOT happy. Well, I have Imagine 2.0 and when those guys say "Quickrender" I say, "How slow???" Seriously, I have a question for you about using Imagine. I keep playing with it and don't get anywhere. I got Steve Worley's book but then I let a buddy have it because I am learning Lightwave and I thought it would be greedy not to share the book with my friend while I am not using it. But every once in a while, as a break from learning LW, I dabble with Imagine. So: 1. How do you get it to render in DCTV format. I typed DCTV into "quickrender rendering method" in preferences. But I get a message that says Bad Quickrendering Method in config file. 2. How the hell do you animate with this thing. I have trod through 100 pages of gibberish and I still can't figure it out…. Give me a clue, will ya?

To render in DCTV you not only have to set the Rendering Method to DCTV but the File Format as well must be set to DCTV. Hope this helps. Rick – On Autopilot from Vancouver Rick – On Autopilot from Vancouver

I will see what I have in my settings under fiel format. I think I have rendering method now set to "scanline" and file format to DCTV, but when it chucks up the image, it is HAM.

The Quickrendering I NEVER use, the Project Editor is FASTER, Strange but seemingly true. To animate "I" render all the frames and then use Imagemaster or the PD prg ADAM to generate the Animation. if you want Imagine to compile a 4 bit plane anim for you hit Anim button in the File Rtype area of Project Editor then use MAKE in the Movie Section. Ho[pe this helps you I'm going PC soon BTW to use Imagine on.
