I have moved this over to the Imagine section since we weren't talking
about Newtek stuff:

You need to set the `Quickrender preset name' (QUIK) to DCTV, and/or set
the `Quickrender file format' to DCTV (QUFF). I think the later is not
needed but I don't havethe drive hooked up right now so I can't tell.

I am going to assume you need ALOT of help, ok?
Word of warning: YOU MUST `SAVE CHANGES' BEFORE YOU EXIT A EDITOR!
Otherwise you will loose all the recent changes.
1: You create a Project and go into the Action editor and set the maximum
# of frames you will use, you can set it higher if you want.
2: Load the objects you want into the scene, either by `ADDing' them in
the Action editor or by `LOADing' them in the Stage editor.
3: Place, Scale, Rotate them how you want then make a KEYframe by using
the Object menu and selecting either Position, Alingment or Size Bar.
4: Go to the frame where you want to make another keyframe and repeat step
#3.
This would give you the basic animation of moving objects. There are more
advanced methods to animate like morphing and Cycle objects but these
require more familiarity before you can attack them.

Tony, thanks, as always. Even though I truly can't afford CI$ (it is a long
distance call from Dover, DE), it is guys like you that make it worth the cost.

Hoo boy, you are on my wavelength. The bit about the keyframe in the action
editor was what I was missing. Going off line to render a bit now. BTW,
Imagine on a 486-33 clone is a bit faster than on an unaccelerated A3000-25.
Probably because the PC is not doing any multi-tasking. But one bad thing
that I discovered is that Imagine does not seem to like dos6's DBLSPACE disk
compression routines. I got cross-linked files when I rebooted.
As far as the imagine manual goes you might as well imagine it didn't exist. I
HIGHLY recomend Steve Worley's book. It actually has a useful index. We
received it the day after we got imagine and haven't used anything else since.

John, I own a copy of Steve's book but I'm letting a poor amiga buddy of mine
borrow it for the moment to get him inspired. Thanks for the tip.
Aloha Mike, Hope you get some footage together for the next "Amiga Gang"
tape. Even if it's rendered on the Clone. BTW did you get a copy of the
tape ? if not ask Jerry, its nice seeing other folks work. Tis inspiring.
How does one find out more about this "Amiga Gang" tape e.g. what it has on it
and where to get it.

Contact Jerry Hatchett here on Compuserve as he was the gent nice enuff to
compile the raw fotage into a intelligible whole and do all duplication.

Lots of people compare the 486 to the 030 and that is a unfair comparison.
The 486 is a much faster CPU than the 030 and is more comparable to the
040. Btw, give me your address so I can go and `borrow' your 486. :^)

From what I understand of IBM MS-DOS, Imagine isn't the only one having
problems with DOS 6's compression. I heard there was a bug in DOS 6's
compression routine.

I did my A3000 transplant just fine only to find out that if I had been willing
to wait, I could have stuck the new 4000 in there with no hassle. But I guess,
all things considered, I would have needed the bigger power supply anyway.
I don't know about dblspace problems. I have run some pretty intense stuff and
Imagine is the only one that has coughed up any hairballs. To be fair, I have
now used it for a couple of days with no further problems. So maybe it was
some flukey program termination. I have had three of those in the last two
days on the PC with Imagine. It says: Abnormal Program Termination; Contact
Impulse. I hope 3.0 does not do this sort of nasty stuff. I am running the
Amiga and PC side by side, learning Imagine on the PC and Lightwave 3.0 on the
Amiga at the same time. A bit of a mental stretch, but it is amazing what
these 3D programmers have created. Lightwave 3.0 in particular is MUCH faster
than the 2.0 version. I am very impressed.

But then there wouldn't be any fun involved. :^) I struggled to buy my
Toaster in January thinking the price of the Toaster would increase only
to find that it decreased $100.00. And then to find out it was a NEW
Toaster and not just software upgrade!
I noticed you had your Toaster system for sale, why are you selling?

Tony, Ye Best send the msg asking Mike Nielsen why he's selling his
Toaster, thru Amiga_Video Fido echo as he no longers uses Compuserve.
He asked me to try and get any msgs from here for him. $$$ problems have
forced him to curb his CI$ time.
