Hello, out there. I just signed on to CompuServe and I can't figure out how to down load files to my Amiga 2000. I'm using a Supra 2400 modem and Mind- Link telecommunications software by Centaur. I've tried XModem and YModem protocols, but nothing seems to work. Is it because I didn't copy certain libraries to my libs directory? Did I set the wrong parameters, like hand- shaking or whatever? Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope. Ramon 73123,636

Ramon- Set your modem software to CIS B(+). I don't know anything about your software. If it doesn't list CIS B (or B+), then shoot another message to this board and someone else will help. Your settings should be 8-N-1 I think. That's what I used with BaudBandit. Am now using AutoPilot. If you find yourself using CompuServ/AmigaForums a lot, AP saves lots of time and hassle. Look under HELP and INSTRUCTIONS (in Basic Services) for additional information. Hope this gets you going. P.S. Your downloads will end up in RAM (or AP) unless you designate a path. —->Everett, co-pilot of the A1200 on AutoPilot—->

I'm not familiar with your software, but you should be able to download with it, all the same. Be sure you have your serial settings at 8N1. (Can't transfer 8 bit files unless you are set for 8 bits, you know.) If you have B protocols available, use them. If not, YModem should be your next best choice. I suspect your problem is that you have been set to 7E1 rather than 8N1. Let us know if I guessed wrong and if you need more help. You might want to go over to the Practice forum and master the downloading there. There are no charges while you work in that forum, and things work there the same as here. To get there, just GO PRACTICE. —Betty
