Just a question, if anyone here knows the legal end of it.
In the libraries are two logos, both from the Star Trek series. These are the
klingon and regular ST logos. The author asks for a fee if you use the logos
for more than a year. (?)
Anyways, I'm wondering, is it legal for someone to produce someone else's
work and ask for money for it in this manner? I suspect it isn't, but I'd like
to know for sure. Anyone know?

I drew both logo's, because I couldn't find any of them and wanted to use
these on my workbench screen. I really don't know if it's legal or not to
ask a shareware fee. Probably it isn't. BUT would you pay 1 Roebel for
each logo?
Because of the bad 'shareware situation', there are a lot op people who
don't pay some great pieces of software.(Take a look at Terminus, (I came
across several hacked 2.0a versions) PointManager, PowerPacker (a bit
outdated) etc.) I made these 2 logo's shareware. It had to be a joke. The
fee I asked is/was 1 Roebel. As I'm from the Netherlands, what can I do
with 1 Roebel. Those russians just replaced all their banknotes. And you
only had to pay when you're using the logo for more than a year.

Actually, I kinda figured that you were <sort of> kidding. Your uploads
prompted my message only because elsewhere on CIS (some time ago) I saw a small
collection of clip art which was taken from Star Trek via screen grabs, etc.
The stuff wasn't licensed, and the guy was asking for a shareware fee. I just
don't think thats legal, and was really just making a bit of a point. 🙂
