#AAWIN v 1.10 Crappin'

I am running a 486/66 w/ a Viper 2MB Vesa Bus. AAWIN keeps dieing (sp?). The monitor goes black and the only thing I can do is Hard boot. Any thoughts?? Thanks, -KT

Kieth, Make sure you have the most current versions of the .dll files. You can download them from this forum. You might also want to try adding Int2fSwith=yes to the [AAPLAY ANIMATION] section of your win.ini. -Brian

Brian, Thanks for the reply. First of all, I have narrowed the problem down…it happens only when I check of 'full screen' then hit play or test. I will try adding Int2fSwith=yes to the [AAPLAY ANIMATION]. What is this parameter? Thanks again, -KT

Keith, I'm hoping it was just a typo in your response to me, it is Int2fSwitch=yes. You typed something different. Did it work? -Brian

Brian, It was indeed a typo that went into my .ini like that. However I just fixed it and it is still buggy! On another subject. Are there certain parameters I can put into a '.pif' to be able to run 3DS from within windows? I have 32 MB of RAM and it is not oftem\n I will need all of that, and it would be nice some of the time to have my phonebook and other windows items accessable. Thanks, -KT P.S. PMJI, but the current version of 3DS will NOT run under Windows, period. However, Windows WILL run inside 3DS. Set it up as a DOS application selection in your program menu. DT

Keith There is nothing you can do with 3DS Release 2 to make it run under a DOS window. This is a feature of Release 3. Also, the most current versions of the .DLL are 12/9/92. You can find them in the file NEWPLA.ZIP. -Brian

We just announced it at Siggraph last week. It won't be out until October, so you haven't missed anything yet. The list of new features should be up in the What's New library by now. – Jack

The most current version of AAPLAY.DLL can be found in this forum in Lib.9 in the file VBXFIX.ZIP the DLL is dated 27-5-93
