Can anyone tell me specifically where I would find the Rel 3 drivers for the HP LaserjetII ? If in a Asoft forum which one… if in the HPPER forum how do I get them? what is the path & library etc.. thanks for your help.. Robert J.P. Smith [Archi-Media Productions. Montreal,Canada]

As far as I know, HP has never written an ADI driver for use with 3D Studio for the Laserjet. Whatyou do is render to a file, either TGA or GIF or whaterver your program will accept, and then use another program that has drivers for the printer to output.. The easiest was is to use the Windows drivers. Get a paint program or utility for windows that will accept these images. For example, Hijaak for Windows or Graphic Workshop from the GRAPHSUPP forum.

I have tried printing a .gif thru coreldraw. Biggest problem is the amt of memory that is standard to the hp. May have to upgrade the memory to 2 megs to print 300 dpi without error. Otherwise, try a third party.

Try Image Alchemy to convert images to the HP language then dump them to the printer from the command line. Works great for me on a 1200c color printer with 2Mb, and on a HP 650C plotter with 4Mb — HP told me that I would not be able to print full page images on a 1200c without extra RAM… There is a demo of Alchemy on CIS somewhere, I think?

Don, Thanx for the tip, I have used Image Alchemy for two years and never thought of this application! Chuck

Rick: <<I have tried printing a .gif thru coreldraw. Biggest problem is the amt of memory that is standard to the hp. May have to upgrade the memory to 2 megs to print 300 dpi without error. I understand now about the slowness of a rendering and that it probably screws up the printer and lines may overlap etc.. but why not simply remove that command? Cheers. Bob
