Playback Utilities

Howdy!
I'm looking for utilities capable of playing AutoDesk Animator and 3D Studio
animations (.FLI and .FLC). I specifically need a DOS-based player capable of
running an animation on a (user-specifiable) portion of the screen. Both
commercial and shareware utilities are acceptable. Names of products, or
companies or individuals who might be able to provide this capability will be
gratefully accepted.
Thanks.

There are several player utilities available on this forum. If you go to the
libraries and search on the key word PLAYER, you will find what you are looking
for.

Howdy!
Thanks for the help; I downloaded two that looked promising (PLAYER.EXE and
AAPLHI.ZIP), but they don't quite meet my requirements yet. The critical thing
that I am looking for is the ability for me to put some text or graphics on the
screen, then call this animation player, and tell it where on the already-drawn
screen to play the animation.
With a little playing with AAPLAYHI I was able to skip the screen erase on
entry. I used Soft-ICE to skip past the screen setting code (int 10 with ah=0)
so the entry screen erasure wasn't done. The exit erasure I wasn't able to
remove. Assumedly the .EXE file could be patched to remove the initial screen
selection (making the assumption that my program, which is calling AAPLAYHI,
will set the screen correctly before calling it).
Any other suggestions? Thanks!
Try Grasp from Paul Mace Software… It's a simple yet powerful
programming package that will allow you to play the FLI or FLC file from inside
an executable file, in addition to allowing the text and graphics you wish to
add…
