I have a client whos son is an aspiring artist. He does great still drawings
and is looking into Animation Software. It is not an area that we have a lot
of knowledge in and would appreciate any feedback regarding your drawing and
animation products. He enjoys drawing cartoon type products as well as business
logos. He is currently looking at some Disney products via Radio Shack. I
would like to head this on off at the pass. Any and all suggestions and
opinion will be appreciated.

He can get a copy of Multimedia Explorer for something like $150 (I don't know
what the latest price is…). If he likes what he sees, then he can upgrade to
Animator Pro (basic Animator comes with the MM Explorer.).
3D Studio and Animator Pro are being used to do competively professional
animation products to video tape on desktop PC's. Only a few short years ago
the same stuff was being done on systems that cost a cool $1/2 Mil. These
products are without question going to liberate thousands of people with a
desire to do visualization in 3D at a home office scale facility.
If your client's son doesn't want to work with the best then you better ask him
why he isn't as smart as your client <grin>.

Hi Thomas, Fractal Design Corp makes a program called Sketcher, which may be a
good place to start. I have an ad for it from MicroWarehouse 1-800-367-7080.
Note: I have not used it. ken
Also, there are plenty of images here in the libraries showing things done with
AniPro, 3DS or both — they should be able to speak to your client more
effectively than anything else. Perhaps some people might make some
recommendations for appropriate images (hey, creators included!).
