#Abekas Driver Used
8 messages in this thread
For those of you who have been fortunate enough to acquire one of the Yost
Group's Release 3 Launch reels, much of the video you saw there was processed
with the ASDG Abekas/Exabyte driver. What were your general impressions of
video fidelity and resolution?

Dear ASDG,

clean as a whistle. I'm impressed. I'm convinced the Exabyte/Asdg driver to
Abekas is the way to go for almost any type of animation outfit that does high
quality video. My next demo tape will probably be done that way.
I was so impressed I ran out and bought an 8505. So when's the driver going to
ship?

On the dual projector big screen setup from Sony at Disneyland Hotel the
picture was crystal clear and stable.

Seeing one's work on television is certainly a thrill, but there's nothing
compared to seeing one's work on a huge screen – how big was Sony's set up
at the Disneyland Hotel?

If memory serves me right….., never mind the jokes you guys, I'd say the
screen was 16'-18' diagonal and the projection was two Sony three beam units
each back projecting a seperate field, I presume. Does anyone know how the
focused and sync'd those? It really was a great display.
I'd like to thank you folks for freeing us from the restraints of single frame
recording. Jogging/shuttling is too expensive in time and resources and it's
good to have an alternative. Thanks.
