1: Does anyone have any experience using the Cannon BJC800 printer? 2: Also do
the drivers that come with 3D Studio 2.01a work for it or do I have to get them

I'm not sure about the printer, but the best way I know of to get hardcopy on
any printer is to render your mesh to an image file format like TGA or TIFF,
then use third party software like Photostyler, Fractal Paint, or whatever to
print it out.

Hi John and thanks for replying, Since my current printer is a RAVEN RP2406 ( a
24 pin B&W dot matrix printer) I never really thought about sending any images
from 3D Studio to print but now that I'm looking into this Cannon bubble jet
printer I wanted to make sure it was all compatible.. The local Cannon rep also
suggested using Aldus Photostyler and confirmed I could not print directly from
within 3DS…Says I should save as a .tga or a .GIF or even a .TIFF then go
into photostyler to print out.. I'll see a demo of unit next week for quality

I'm using the BJC-800 and it works great with any windows 24 bit paint program
such as Aldus photostyler. Be sure you have the latest driver that allows you
to match monitor screen colors to printer colors. The original driver will
drive you color crazy. There is an autocad driver available for it on the
Canon BBS but I don't think it will work for 3ds.
Thanks for the info Don, tell me do you find the maintenance on this unit a
problem, someone said that the head clogged up often and that could be
expensive..what kind of costs incurred for the ink cartridges, do you have to
change them often? Or do they work for a good number of prints.. Finally (sorry
for many questions): Do you find the image quality good?
