I've got 1.5 gig on the Amiga now, and I'm running out of space. I think I
should get 1.2 gig drives for the Mac and PC, too. I'm tired of running out of
space. Toshiba 3.5 1.2 gigs are now less than $1000, and I see a DEC 1.6 gig
for $1582…
John,
SoftHard Systems (find them in the Computer Shopper) quoted me $1545 for
DEC 1.6 GB drives; I bargained them down to around $1400, cause I was
buying 8 🙂 (Can't wait to get that server up 🙂

Sure rub it in John hehehehehe BTW got the 3D ROm, VERY NICE. on page 7 of
the booklet is 3 images, the center one shows /Large robot. please lemme
know what the filename of iut is as well as the mewrmaids filename
Also are any of the Imagine objects on the Disk setup as CYCLE Objects???
Thanx for the quick service John
The large mech in that image is not on the disc… it's an example of
other objects available from Imagination Works. But who knows, give
him a call, maybe he'll give it to you… I don't think it has much
commercial potential, in terms of who he thinks his customers are.
Bummer, oh well the Robotech Model is quite nice too. the Clambot looks
sorta like sumptin from Babylon 5.
I'm in the Process of making the ROBOTECH.IOB model into a Cycle object
for Imagine.
Yes, "clambot" was one of my favorites, too. They have a bit of
character to them, like the saucers in "Batteries Not Included."
Yes indeed, I agree the Clambot is remniscent of "Battereis Not Included"
Will I be seeing a Model Release form anytime soon?
Also noticed ALOT of Lovely models, the more I fiddle with 3D ROM the more
Neato Keen Models I find like the HALF a Space Station which looks Quite a
bit like the Space Station from Star Trek II:Wrath of Khan.
I have the Wrath 55 model setup as a Cycle Object too.
BTW How Does one go about getting Permission to use the Files from the 3D
ROM on a BBS? Trade N Post BBS's Sysop wishes me to Upload Large amounts
of Models(I've been doing it all along but the 3D ROM makes it easier) to
make him the # 1 Local BBS in NY. He DOES NOT charge for his 3 line BBS
with Fidonet echo's and so for this Reason I try to support him as much as
possible. Hence the Request for permission to Upload Files from the 3D
ROM
Thanx John.
If he's going to want a lot of models for his BBS, the procedure he
should use is to buy a copy of the 3D ROM and put the models up there
himself. All he has to do is call Syndesis and request permission
when he purchases the disc. This is one of the reasons that Syndesis
has a compliation copyright on the disc. A few models are OK to
upload… a large number is a definite "no-no".
Thanx for the info Steve.
Hey, one thing at a time. I have a lot to do before we get around to
finalizing the next disc. The release forms are coming soon…
As I've said, read the COPYRIGH.AMI file. I'd appreciate it if each uploaded
file contains the small credit described in this file. Other than that, just
have hte the BBS operator give me a call at (414) 674-5200. So far, sysops seem
to be happier if they hear it from the horse's mouth.
ok John will have Rueben give you a buzz. I uploaded 1 object to his BBS
and included the Copyright.Ami file in the archive.
Now a Slight problem to report, VERY MINOR, The AL model from Viewpoint
for Imagine give me an OBJECT ERROR:bad Edge Number. Just thought ye'd
like to know. BTW this error in no way makes me unable to use the object,
I simply have to click on the OK button and the model renders fine. I'm
rendering a quickie 30 frame Walk Cycle of the AL model going across a
Vistapro generated backdrop. If you like I'll send you the Cycle Version
of AL the Gangster.
Hmm, I'll check out that edge problem. Imagine's documentation of
their edge enums is very poor, I don't think their programmers even
understand what's required when it comes to edges.
ok John, let me know IF you find out anything. I wonder if using ICP+ on
one of the other versions and converting to Imagine might not help. I
imagine the AL object started life as a 3D Studio model right? maybe If I
convert the Lightwave version the problem will disappear???
Hows ICP + 3.0 coming along?
I also saw this 'bad edge' problem with Imagine. I have seen it in 'BigBen'
and some other viewpoint objects.
FYI.
