Hi, Anyone have news from Siggraph? I understand from a rep at Centaur that they were there showing the modules. Ship date is to be announced at WOC Pasedena show in Sept. Chris—->on AP

Hi Chris, Here's what I saw in Siggraph with the Centaur people. Saw the Centaur people showing off their Video Processor. The Video processor seems to aim straight at the Toaster. The Video processor has a definable path that user can setup for wipes. That means a control of x,y loaction and x,y scaling. Centaur was showing some really wild wipes. The rep said that the user can do animation wipes too. They also show off a Photon Torpedo wipe (animation wipe) Pretty interesting. The output of the Video Suite is RGBS. I guess that you will need a converter to go from RGB to what ever format you want. Saw a mockup of the AV suite too. Didn't see it work, it was in a show case. Best Regards, Sze C

Sze, Did you see the frame grabber function being used? Also, did you see a signal output from the Genlock of the processor? And, did they mention any way to utilize the Sunrize audio board for video production? Hope, they ship this stuff soon. Rep told me ship date will be announced at WOC in Pasedena in Sept. Chris Sorry about the late reply. Was away for a while. I did not see the Frame Grabber doing any Frame Grab and store function but I did see them using Frame Grab to do DVE. Meaning piping in live Video and doing DVE real time and also Solarization real time. Genlock signal. If you are reffering having Graphics overlay live Video well the demo I sat through did not really show that. Sunrise board There was no mention about the sunrise board at all. The demo that I watched was kind of short. Could anyone that went to Siggraph and saw OPAL demo fill in more info ? I did not pry too much at OPAL. I hope this will help you out Chris.

Hi Chris No Problem. I am surprise to see that there are not very much siggraph news here too. There is at least one Amiga Animation in the Siggraph Electronic Theater Tape that I saw. Can recall name now. Will find out. Leave me a message if you want to talk about Siggraph and stuff. Best Regards,

Sze, What other Amiga stuff did you see at Siggraph? Were there any Mpeg boards (for video/audio compression) shown? What about CDRom gear? Chris—->on AP
