I have a problem with a TIGA graphics adapter made (in license) by Commodore
for the AMIGA. This adapter contains some TI chips.
Now, I have a problem with this card and I need the specifications of the
following TEXAS INSTRUMENTS chips on this card:
CHIP 1: TMS 34010 FNL -50, LLS9116, 021197 , C1986 TI
CHIP 2 104XF, 9289232, SN74BCT 224 AFN
Commodore Germany didn't know anything about this card- can you help me to
obtain these
specifications ?
The problem is the device driver. It's quit slow and supports only the very
basic features of this card – so to speed things up, I (with help from some
experts) want to write a faster driver.

I've been thru some of this in the past. The TI34010 is a graphics processor.
You can get complete data books from Texas I. Look in the local yellow pages
for a TI rep and they will be glad (I think) to send one (or more) out to you.
Now then the problem is that the 34010 and others of this ilk are fantasticly
great at running demos. ie zapping out 100 bizzilion circles/lines/boxes etc.
They are also fantastly BAD at running real world graphics. No, I'm not saying
its impossable to write a new OS that would take advantage of this sort of
thing. It is possable (maybe). It just won't happen with 34010 on an
Amiga/ibm/Mac Thats the good news. The bad news is that the 34010 is old news.
Sorry to be the bearer of such bad stuff. It gets worse but you won't need to
listen to more rantings from me <grin>.

we got the complete data book today and we think coding a better device for
this TIGA card is not impossible. If you take a closer look at the device
you'll se that this circles/boxes/lines are supported by the device, but
nothing more. So bad performance with real world graphics is not very
surprising. This TI chip has a lot more power !
You are right, it's old news. But we got some hundreds of this cards…
