Grapevine (1-800-292-7445) is advertising the 3070 for $299.95 in
the Sept. AmigaWorld (p. 67). I'll be ordering one tomorrow, so I'll
hold your message and let you know if they have them in stock.
Brian, I ordered one from Grapevine today for only $229. They expect them
in about a week.

yes, I ordered one as well, and with that low price, proceeded to
order another $70 in additional stuff. Nice people.
$229? Wow! What's the capacity on this thing: 150MB? Is that
compressed or not?
Has anyone used the 3070 with a PC and SCSI card? I recently bought
Colorado Jumbo 250 for my clone, but if I could return it and get a
drive that would work with my Amiga _and_ the clone, I'd do it in a
second!
Denny, whether it is compressed depends on your backup software, of
course. The 3070 can use either the 150 or 250M tapes. I use mine
with AmiBack, and it works great. I wanted to use it on my Toshiba
with the SCSI interface, but I've not yet found a driver for the
Toshiba. Everyone keeps telling me it should have come with the
drive – and of course, it didn't. I've been told that CorelSCSI
would do the job, but the local dealers here don't seem to carry
that. I'd love to find a driver that would let me use it on both
machines.
Trantor has a SCSI driver utility that should work with the 3070. I think
it is called multiSCSI or something like that. It comes with all of their
SCSI controllers including their parallel port SCSI adapters and is also
sold separately.

Thanks, Mark. I was aware of their parallel port adapters, but didn't
need one, and I didn't know that their drivers were sold separately.

I have a 3070, and I've used it from both my Amiga, and my PC. I've used
it to backup a 386bsd system, as well as ISC Unix, but I've never used it
under DOS. Currently I'm using NEXTSTEP 3.1 for Intel processors on my
486, and just last night I loaded the SCSItape driver, and am going to try
and get the 3070 (aka Caliper CP150) up and running under NS3.1

I have a friend that borrowed my A3070 to use it with a PC. I am not sure
what software he was using but appearently it did work.
