#4000 Tower?
8 messages in this thread
Does anybody have any idea when the 4000 tower is supposed to make its debut?
I've heard a lot about it here on the forum, but nothing concrete. Anyone know
any thing about it? Thanks
The last I heard it was due to make it's debut here in the UK at the end
of September, this is quite old info though so it may well have changed.

Last I heard, the engineer who was working on it was laid off. They could
have assigned someone new though…
It's fairly trivial from an engineering standpoint. But I'd guess that it
isn't a very high priority for Commodore right now and that you aren't
likely to see one real soon. That is just a guess.

Thanks for the reply Dale. I been debating whether to wait for it or just the
4000. It doesn't have enough slots for what I want do. I hear that there are
expansion chasis available. Do you know anything about them? Can any Card that
normally works in the 4000 work in the expansion chasis? If so, that might
solve the slot deficiency in the 4000. Any other suggestions? Thanx
Sorry, I don't know anything about any expansion chasis, and, not knowing
what you want to do, I don't have any suggestions other than to find a
creative way to make do with the number of slots in the 4000. Given what
I seem to remember as the original price difference between the 3000 and
the 3000T, you might just trying making do with two A4000s rather than 1
A4000T.

Steve,
Have you seen Amazing Computing/Amiga (July 93) which has coverage of NAB
and the Video Slot Box by Digital Creations. Apparently it will be
available soon for $1000.

Check out the Toaster Oven from Ambitious Technologies. There's and ad in the
latest VTU Magazine. It supposedly allows 4 PC slots, 4 Amiga Zorro III slots
and 1 video slot simultaneously, and has 10 drive bays. It's available for the
3000 and 4000, and the ad says its upgradeable to multiple video slots. The
price is $629.95, and the number is (310) 532-0787.

Thanks Kevin, I'll check it out.
