#Graphic file conversion

Files with .lzh and .lha extensions are compressed and have to be decompressed
with LHARC or LZH, available in many fine file libraries near you. Files with
.jpg are JPEG lossy-compression files, and your A3000 cannot display them
unless you have some kinky graphics hardware installed.

Bob,
Thanks for your reply! I got a shareware archiver from AmigaUsers Forum (see
Message# 34494). As for .jpg files I'm going to ignore them for now. Thanks.
Mike
Mike,
If you are interested in the .jpg IFF files you CAN view them with a
little utility prog called ViewTek which is available in the A/Arts area,
I have got it and it does a good job. It will view most of the Amigas
available IFF formats, I believe. It is either freeware or shareware.
Prod…prod….:-)

Laurie,
Thanks for the lead. I will pick up ViewTek soon… I'm up wayyy past my
bedtime! By the way your sign-off leads me to guess you're a Kiwi in
Auckland?? Am I close? I've been to the airport there. I lived in Alice
Springs, Australia for 5 years, so I'm somewhat familiar with that end of the
world. Anyway, thank again for the help! 🙂
Mike
Mike, Yep correct on Auckland, actually 30-40 mins south out in the
country.
Did you ever go canoeing in that "river" at Alice Springs (g)

Michael,
VIEWTEK will allow you to view JPG (JPEG) images on the A3000
Mike,
Thanks! I'll go and get it. 🙂
Mike
You're welcome. I misspoke – there is a program that will show you JPG images
on your A3000; it's called ViewTek and you can find it in the libraries. (I
have it and use it but forgot it would show JPGs on any machine). The quality
might not be great, but you can at least look at the pictures.
Bob
Bob,
Thanks! I'll try it. The LHA138 utility works great!
Mike
Viewtek will display Display JPEG images on the A3000.
Duh, oops. I knew that. Really I did.
