Does anyone know where to get the CAMD.library for DMCS2? The program's
midi support is kind of lacking (nonexistant) without it. Other than this,
the program looks good.
You mean for the DMCS2 demo? (The program comes with it, doesn't it?)

…Sorry! Yes, I meant the demo. The demo gives me an error requester that
says "MIDI Input/Output is not available because the CAMD library cannot
be found" If you have any info on where I can legally get the library I'd
greatly appreciate it.

I got a DMCS2 demo from Amiga Format and was having the same problem
even after moving the Library into the proper drawer (on this demo disc,
there were 3 Libs drawers – for 1.3,2.x, 3.0 OS) I did what they rec. in
the mag – copied camd.lib from the main LIBS drawer to the LIBS2 drawer –
still didn't work – so I copied it to all of em – then it worked. Hope
this helps.

I'd appreciate it if you would post your copy of the archive, because
the one posted here on CIS doesn't contain the CAMD library anywhere. I
haven't seen any other versions of the archive, so I'm kind of stuck. I
want to put the demo through its paces with midi before I buy it.
What are the legal requirements for posting just the CAMD library? (it
is copyright by CBM according to the demo docs.)

I'm not going to post the copy I downloaded because now I'm not 100% sure
about the legality of it. I think maybe there was a legally distributed
disk which contains materials which may not be electronically
distributed.

I'll be officially posting a complete demo version sometime in the
next 2 weeks, and maybe including the stand alone player as well. You
are right about the distribution disk, we only granted Amiga Format
permission to distribute the demo, knowing of course that that wasn't
going to stop the electronic proliferation of the demo.

Orlando, Perhaps you could break up the next demo for those of us who already
downloaded the original file. The download time does cost, and if I could just
download what I need, that would be great! Also whats up with an actual
release date? I already sent in my check for the upgrade Is it shipping soon
(Please?).

I'll try to break it up as you suggest, but I may not be able to for legal
reasons. I will check though. The release date is currently the 2nd or 3rd
week of Sept. (how's that for specific) 🙂

Thanks….I hope you can break it up (I guess unless there are actually changes
to DM2 itself. Now, without involving you personally, as you are just "the
messenger" (Who I would never 'kill'), I must comment on now the 6TH change of
release date, of course as DELAYS (I think I would DIE if any software
publisher actually released early or on time). My partner and I are composers
(aka RAJH) who have been using DMCS for
..well since it was first released for the Amiga. When everyone else went to
sequencers like B&P we stuck with DMusic. We were able to push the software to
its limits (and beyond), and were able to produce professional results (leading
to commercial contracts and an Honorable Mention, top 10 percent in a national
song contest). Needless to say DM2 addresses many of the limitations that Rick
and I have been thinking about(We have the demo as you know, so we have an idea
of what it is). Basically these delays are costing us. PLEASE GET THIS THING
SHIPPED!!!!

Forgive me if you've covered this but WHEN is DMusic2 going to be
released and what is the upgrade policy? Thanks.
Upgrades can be ordered from EA at 1-800-245-4525 I believe the price is
$50.00, plus shipping and taxes, and all that good stuff. DeluxeMusic 2.0 is
supposed to ship the 2nd or 3rd week of September. It was supposed to have
shipped already, but there was a little materials glitch, you know how that
goes… Anyway, I'm glad people are anxiously awaiting for the product. If it
sells well, we'll do another upgrade. So tell a friend, and if they want to
"check out the software" give them a copy of the DEMO. Would any of you in this
section want to do a DMusic conference after the product ships, so the Engineer
and I can get some feedback from you all? Let your sysop know, I'm sure I'll
be contacted if there's enough interest in it.

The DMCS2 demo comes with the realtime lib. The docs say nothing about the
camd lib (unless you have a release version?). I have the demo running here
with no probs (I may have gotten the CAMD with another program, and didn't know
DMCS2 demo is using it…I'll check). BTW the demo is GREAT! Many of the
improvments is what I wish I had in this program years ago. I've signed up
for the upgrade and I can't wait to get my notes on it after a taste with the
demo!
How will the CAMD improve midi support? I have the MIDIs working fine fir ERR
for the most part.

The DMCS2 demo doesn't support midi at all without the CAMD library. The
demo docs say that it is copyright by CBM, so I guess I'll have to buy
DMCS2 without having looked at the midi capabilities. I don't think I'll
be disappointed.

I would like to know what a score printout would look like from DMCS2 on
my HP DeskJet 500. Also, whether it will support real-time MIDI input, for
example from my ESQ'1's internal sequencer…
Has anyone got something like a spec sheet for DMCS2?
From the look of it it's a neat prog. Wonder what took them so long to
come up with it? I mean, it's not THAT different from DMCS is it?

I would like to see all that too. Seems to me there was a spec sheet of
sorts posted here a few months ago, and it was very full featured. Did
anyone out there happen to save a copy of it? I think we'd all like to see
it again.

Stuart…..I Do have the CAMD, although it doesn't seem to be the latest (the
size was differant on the listing here) But it does work I obtained the file
from the compressed file AVPLAY.LZH in one of the libs here(not sure which
one). AVPlay is a runtime program for amigavision that I needed a few months
ago. In any event it works with the DMCS2 demo. Hope this helps.
