Ted – I forgot to ask you at the last user group meeting. If I sent you a blank
tape do you think you could make a copy of the SIGGRAPH video?

It seems I saw a message on this forum a week or so ago that someone was
selling copies which had been bumped up to Beta to hold much of the quality.
I'd have to go VHS to VHS and the tape would lose a lot. It should be available
thru dealers sometime soon as well.
Anyone still have that message?
TedB
Oh, that tape thing…
Sure… We have been seending aout some dubs we had done at cost… + shipping.
The pace of the world being what it is, we just thought this would help to span
the time before you can get "real" tapes. So, if you are a tape junkie and
don't mind a dub… Let me know!

Hey, I have one of those! I picked up an 8086 dual-floppy laptop last year for
$300. 2-hour battery. Perfect for recording deep thoughts on long trips
without the temptation to play Tetris.
Sell it to ya for $500. <g>

Hi Ted,
Not to compete with anyone, but I recently offered to to dub the 93 Siggraph
reel for anyone who didn't get one, free of charge. I've gone to both VHS and
SVHS and the dubs look VERY good — the dubs from Adesk are pretty hot, I guess
(even the VHS!). Anyway, ANYONE who sends me a self-addressed postpaid package
containing a blank VHS or SVHS tape will get a dub ASAP. Just let me know and
I'll Email my address.
Hey, how's good ole' New England? Because of a dad-burned hurricane down the
Baja, we've got ourselves a bit of humidity here (SoCal) for a while. Reminds
me of back east!
Have a good one, and it was nice meeting you at Siggraph!

Thanks. I'll make sure Mark Bessette gets this info. Will you be up at Autodesk
U. in October?
TedB
Naw, I'd love to go and get a little schoolin', but I really gotta stick around
and get some work done around here. Just picked up a Sony 1730 (AWESOME
monitor, BTW) and gotta pay for it!<g> Let me know how things go up there…

What's the thing about Autodesk U in October? And where are you from in New
England? I am from Auburn, Massachusetts originally.
I also just spent a coupla days in Weisbaden with Ingo, and he told me *all*
about you. <g>

I live up in Portsmouth, NH but do a lot of work in Boston. Auburn….., isn't
that a suburb of Worcester??<BG>
Autodesk U is the new NAAUG meeting to be held in SF in October. It is a week
of mini courses and exibits of AutoCAD and 3DS. Looks very promising!
I had plans to head to Germany this fall but plans have changed and I'm going
out to Toronto instead so tell Ingo I may look him up in the Spring. Are you
headed back to New England anytime soon?
Keep up the good works and don't believe all you hear<g>.
TedB
Actually, Auburn IS a suburb of Worcester. I grew up about 2 miles from Holy
Cross College, hung out at the mall, cheered the day they changed our school
mascot from a Dandy (can you believe it?) to a Rocket, to commemorate the first
firing of a liquid fuel rocket by Robert Goddard somewhere on what is now
Auburn's Pakachoag Golf Course.
I'll be back in the area sometime in the next month or so (how's that for
vagueness?) so maybe I could sorta kinda get in touch with you then. Did you
send me a message a few months ago when I was advertising for training? I did
get one from NH but you said "No money, just visit" so I put it in my mental
scrapbin. <g>

Michele
Yes that was me when you were on your way to Montreal. Wanted to meet you to
have a look at your books but ended up going to Greg P's booth at Siggraph
instead.<g>
Give me a call when you're in the area. Off to do a 3DS trainers training
session in Boston for the rest of the week so my presence on CIS may be
sketchy.
