We are having problems installing ORDHID Fahrenheit 1280 card to work with 3D Studio Release 2.0. We downloaded REV2.EXE from ORCHID bulletin board and it inserted a line in our AUTOEXEC.BAT: SET DSPADI = C:\3DS2\DRIVERS\RFPADI42.EXP. We followed the ORCHID's instructions for installing VESA for 3DStudio and still cannot get it to work correctly. The configuration does not allow us to set the resolution when we try running 3D Studio and it fails when we try to display an image.

MM The line should be SET RCPADI=……….and point to the 3DS driver which should be rcpvesa.exp or something similar for VESA. Also check your installation guide for the correct settings in the 3DS.SET file for use with the RCPADI setting DSPADI sets the AutoCAD display driver and I rfpadi42.exp looks like a AutoCAD driver. Hi Mondo! Try SET RCPADI=C:\3DS2\DRIVERS\RFPADI42.EXP. Greetings from across the Bay! RFPADI42.EXP is not the same driver I had (RCFADI42.EXP) before switching to the INFINITELY superior Vibrant driver, but if it's a 3DS driver and you re-write your environment variable, it should work. Mr Mondo, you need to delete the file 3dadi.cfg which is in your 3ds directory. After doing this you should be able to start 3ds and specify resolutions for different displays (main/render/material).
