FAX Modem Software

Greetings, all;
I've got a ZOOM fax modem, and I'm looking for some fax-modem software that
would work with it. Recieve with OCR would be *really* nice…
Any Pointers?

No OCR capabilities, but you might try AFAX… there's a demo version in
lib 5 of AmigaUser.
You can buy a standalone version of Migraph's OCR software and probably
could link it (using AREXX or an AmigaDOS script) to another outfit's fax
program. The generic version of GPFax from Supra ought to work with your
Zoom, but I'd call Supra and ask before buying. GPFax is commercialware,
about 75 bucks, but it's outstanding. Does everything — fax broadcasts,
reports, phone book, etc. And easily converts graphic-based documents such
as from Professional Page or Final Copy II for really great fax output.
Also can save incoming faxes as IFF files which I presume the Migraph OCR
program can scan.

The Supra distrbuted GPFax (class 2) will not work with the Zoom (class
1)… you will need to buy the class 1 specific version (not distributed
in the US)…

I didn't know that Zoom even made a Class 1 modem.
I don't know of a Zoom modem that does class 2 or 2.0, do you?

I own two Zoom modems… both are Class 2.
GPFax or AFax will work fine with the Zoom modem and then you can use a
dedicated Amiga OCR program.
