Does any one know of a downloadable program I can download to draw a family tree? It must be capable of showing full name, birth and death date, and any special info I would like to include.

Chris: I just d/l'ed AFT.LHA the other day. It's VERY simple, but usable. If you want a good commercial one, I'd suggest Your Family Tree by MVP Software. Stay cool B-) -Larry

Chris: Just a note after using YFT for a while. This program is not BUG free and the printing capabilities are pretty awful (I have to change both printer and PREFS to get the proper output as an example). The ISAM encoding sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I'm using YFT 2. I don't think there is a way to output your files in the standard form (either the Mormon or European standards). And the interface is pretty junky (of course interface "junkiness" is always an opinion). There are several other Genealogical tools available on the Amiga, you might check into one of these before committing to YFT. Clark -|- Williams –O-o-O– Via George

There are two or three genealogy programs in the libraries. The one I have liked best was AFT.LHA. I find it to be fairly complete, easy to use. It has GEDCOM so you can exchange data with other programs, and it provides the ability to document your sources – extremely important! Also, it has AREXX. And its author, Andrew Hounsell, is a member of this forum. —Betty
