I just got a Spea V7 Mirage VLB, but I don't get 3ds run anymore.
Configuring with 3ds vibcfg tells me there is no S3-Chip?!?
The only resolution where this message doesn't appear is 640×400. But when
starting 3ds I get the messsage "display too small".
Has anybody got similar problems with Spea-Cards?
Or is there any vibrant-driver update available?

One of our PC`s got the same graphic board. I use the Video 7/SPEA Mirage S3
driver in a resolution of 1024×768 (640×480/24 for rendering) and have no
problems.
Do you have downloaded the new Vibrant Drivers from the lib or do you have the
new Yost IPAS Disk #6 and #7? If not, download the new Vibrant Drivers and try
it again.

I was not aware that the SPEA board had an S3 chip. I don't think it does.
Which means you are configured for the wrong board in the Vibrant Config.
It was my understanding the the SPEA board used an ADI driver with 3D Studio.If
this is the case, you should set your display to RDPADI.

Only the Spea Fire and old Hitichi based boards are not yet supported via the
In-line drivers.
The other Spea boards work fine with the 1.03 versions of the In-line drivers
with the execption of some of
the PAL and NTSC modes that require and extra TSR supplied by SPEA. The PAL
and NTSC modes additionally still have reliablity problems on the ISA versions
of the cards.

The Spea-Setup-Routine modifies autoexec.bat so that there will be a program
(don't know it's name) be executed after booting.
Well, the routine appends the statement to autoexec.bat, and when
the last statement in autoexec.bat is "3ds" or a menu-programm for
example, the spea-program won't be executed.
That's the solution for my "problem".
