Adsoft is a company based in The Netherlands (no we don't walk on wooden shoes)
and is owned by a few hundred adverti- sing agencies. For these companies we
act like their own computerdepartment. Since one year we build up some networks
for applications like Autodesk Animator , 3D-Studio etc… The major
difficulties we have is getting to know where and how to get suitable software
(like IPAS, 3D-meshes, etc..) and hardware (NTSC/PAL-encoder etc..). For this
moment we need urgently compression software for our FLC's and/or WAV software.
And is there already software that can combine FLC and WAV-files ? And if so
how can we order this products. There might be even a more experienced DUTCH
member 3D-studio User who can help us find our ways around.
Thanks so far, I'll be back
Theo
I've seen ads for a program called Smacker that claims to compress flics to 1/4
to 1/2 their original size. It's by RAD Software, with a Compuserve address
73237,75. It lists for $295.00 USD. I have no idea how well it works, but it
might do what you want.
When you say "combine FLC and WAV files", do you mean somehow merging into one
multi-media file, or just an authoring program that will play them back
simultaneously? If the latter, there are a number of programs that will do
that, such as MediaBlitz, Compel, Q-Media and so on. Most of them will let you
build "shows" that will combine WAV, MIDI, FLICS, bitmaps, and usually some
effects like wipes and fades.
Good luck…Gary
