How cheap?
Well make me an offer (include prefered shipping method).
Base machine, power supply, books, 3.0 s/w only.
No HD. No 030. No monitor. 2Meg Chip memory only. No demo/games. All
the good stuff's been pulled into the replacement machine <g>.
Problem is this particular unit appears to have a bad PCMCIA slot and the
composite video is flaky (sometimes perfect most times noexistant might
just be a bad connector but with the PCMCIA bad I didn't bother checking
further). Other than that it's passed all the diagnostics I have around
though you might want to center the floppy drive a bit better in the
case.
Since I don't know what caused the slot to go bad (it was that way when i
got it) or even if it will work with something other than the I-Card, I'll
run/report on any diag you can provide me driver for but the unit will
sold 'AS IS'.
Unfortunately, I required a machine I could use an I-Card in to attach to
the LAN. I figure most folks won't need that and this thing is of only
limited value as a parts machine so i'ld see if anyone else had a use.

What makes you think the I-Card doesn't work? It is a little tricky to
set up because you have to use unit 0 for 10-Base-T and unit 1 for
cheapernet. I would have tried a RAM card before concluding that the card
with complex software was necessarily at fault.
Did you get the machine new (from which dealer?) or used?

I've got 2 other 1200s using same card and boot floppy they work. Like I
said, the slot may work for others but doesn't for my required config.
Besides, I'm running out of desk space<g>.

Is the I-Card a PCMCIA ethernet card? If so, are there drivers for it so
that it'll work with an Amiga? Also, is it possible to use it in a PC
(does it come with packet drivers?)

The I-Card is a regular old PCMCIA card relabled and packaged with an
Amiga SANA-II driver. As far as I know, the PC drivers aren't included,
but I imagine they'd be easy enough to get (you'd have to call
Interworks).

The I-Care is an Amiga specific PCMCIA card offered by Interworks. Runs
at least twisted pair and cheapernet. Interworks also has higher level
comm packages available. At least ENLAN 2.0 is shipping and I'm not sure
what the status is of their TCP/IP package.
Card costs about $300 but if you've already got a LAN in place it's a lot
cheaper than trying to add a gig or two of disk to a 1200.

Seems like a real good offer for a system with unknown defects and a
misaligned floppy (indicating a probably drop).

Well, I've nitpicked just about everything i can on the thing. The one
thing I wouldn't accept myself is the slot problem and I don't know how
many other folks really need that given the general lack of PCMCIA
expansions.
