I am presently searching for all series of Amiga machines, working or not.
Will pay reasonable price. I am not looking for full blown, maxed out units at
a high price, but rather items that you no longer have a use for and are
interested in parting with. Will send immediate cash. To anyone who may be

You're so right. Unfortunately being crazy can also make you see things that
aren't there as well.
I have a revision 5 A500, with a dodgy keyboard chip, _badly_ misaligned floppy
heads, broken pins on Fat Agnus, and dry joints all over the motherboard. Oh,
and the ROM's missing too.
Apart from that, it's fine…
How much is that worth to you?
Is it even worth the postage?

Thanks for your reply. Sounds like a description of my body, of course, not
witholding my face. Do you have any other side attractions with it or just the
base unit? Any manuals, software, periphs. etc.? How does $20- sound? I don't
know it sounds like someone used it in a curling match. Get back to me when
you can with what you feel is fair, alright?

I have a older 2000 with 4.2 motherboard, 40MB HD, and 1.2 ROMS.
Seems to work just fine.
Cleaned it up after it had been sitting in a friends closet for
years. Would make a great battery commerial (Just like Sear's
Diehard).

Sounds a lot like the other 2000 that was on the board yesterday. Do you have a
figure in mind? Also are there any manuals, software etc? Could you please
E-mail me, and or leave me a note on this board?

$20 sounds reasonable, considering the condition it is in, but, as I say, is it
worth the postage (from my point of view), considering money transfers (coz I'm
in the U.K.) and the carriage costs? Will have to investigate such costs.
The poor old thing got this way though continuous crushing, flexing and general
abuse while travelling up and down the country (between college and home), and
finally gave up the ghost last year. When it did die I replaced it with an
A500+, so most of the extra hardware (modulator, flicker fixer etc., and even
the PSU!) has moved to that. And I sold the 1.3 ROM. I do, however still have a
512k RAM expansion (for the trap door slot, and incompatible with the '+). I
still have _some_ of the manuals (the Workbench manual and the "First Steps"
guide) but the AmigaDOS manual has disappeared. The original Workbench disks
died quite a while ago as well…
Obviously if I added these things in it would up the price and _might_ make it
worthwhile for me to send it! But at the moment I think most of the $20 would
be eaten up in exchange and carriage…
Give me a buzz if you're still interested, and I'll look into the various money
issues here.

Yes of course I am still interested in your famous machine. Who cares if it
works anyway. I'll just place it in a museum quality display, and charge a
heafty admission fee just for silly individuals to come, and see the one and
only famous A500 that got bent, folded, and basically keelhauled, and lived to
talk about it.
I am not sure of the pounds to U.S. hula dollas thingy but I can all the local
exchange or what have you.

I have an old A1000, 512K plus 1meg sidecard and phoenix HD
with keyboard (no monitor)
It works but an now using A2000 & A3000
