The ground wires (fairly heavy guage, perhaps 22 guage or better), can be
hooked up as follows:
On the daughterboard, near the corner closest to the keyboard connector (right
rear corner of daughterboard as seen from front of machine), you will find some
ICs. They are near rge edge of the board, and adjacent to the lettering
mentioned…
Connect U6J pin 10 to U6K pin 10
Connect U6L pin 10 to U6N pin 10

Mmm, I did all my straps (those plus Ralph's) with wire-wrap wire, which is
pretty thin. Since the lines are so short, I wouldn't think that the gauge
would matter very much. In fact, even 40 gauge copper wire (looks about like
human hair, or a bit thinner) is only about one ohm per foot, which would be
about 83 milliohms in this circumstance.
Do you know something I don't know?

There is no such thing as a ground that is too heavy guage, especially if you
are trying to get rid of noise that is high frequency. DC resistance is the
least of your worries.

I see that Larry already responded but anyway the issue is more one of
inductive reactance rather than DC resistance. For very fast rise pulses the
larger wire will exhibit lower inductive reactance (though depending on
routing, the capacitance might go up). 73, bill

today. By the way, as far as your response that ground wires can never be to
thick,I agree fully. I spent 6 yrs. as a nuclear trained electronic tech in the
navy submarine service, and every class I ever went to on advanced
soldering/maint. they stressed just what you said. Thanks again for your help.
