Animator Logo

I have recently aquired a FLC file player which was written by Knowledge Garden in KPWIN++. Their programme makes use of aaplay.dll and works well. The only problem is that the aaOpen command seems to be essential but it calls the Animator logo – albeit briefly Now I'm not against giving proper professional credit but I'd rather the credits turned up when we wanted them to – not in the middle of our applications. Can you tell me what the solution is and what the position is in our distributing the aaplay.dll in our own applications. TIA. Ted Poulter.

Ted, That software is freely distributable, and that copyright flash can not be removed. If you have an application that requires you not to have this credit, you can licence a version of the player, at a cost, from Autodesk which does not flash the copyright screen. The person to speak with about this is Gail Bennet, at 415-332-2344. -Brian

<< and what the position is in our distributing the aaplay.dll in our own applications.>> Sorry, didn't see this part. If you are distributing commercial applications, you MUST have a licence agreement with Autodesk to distribute the .DLL. This is true even of shareware. A licence agreement does not nesessarily mean a cost to you, but some prior arrangement is nesessary. Again, talk to Gail Bennet at 415-332-2344.

Brian, Many thanks for the help – I would certainly like to clarify the situation as we will be distributing applications. I'll contact Gail Bennett as you suggest. Many thanks for your help. Regards, Ted
