Hi All! I have the chance to purchase a NEC MultiSync II for a very cheap price for use with the Amiga 1200. Does anyone have any comments regarding its suitablity for the job? Any previous or current users of this monitor, I would be interested in any comments. -Andre

Subject to the meaning of "very cheap price", the MultiSync II is a perfect monitor for use with any model of Amiga, unless you need a LARGE screen (such as for CAD). //daniel on autopilot in paradise \X/ powered by intel and motorola

Well, I have a price of AUD$295, which would work out to be almost US$400, so its pretty good. Usually, you pay about 600-700 for a MultiSync down here. -Andre PS> thanks for your help.

Hmm…I don't know if it's available where(ever) you are, but NEC has the LikeNew Program in which they sell refurbished and overstock items direct to the end user. Refurbished MultiSyncs are as low as $259…but I don't know how much a MultiSync II would be or if one is even available. No address is given in the advertisement in Computer Shopper and only two telephone numbers are given. Call 1-800-NEC-INFO and press 6 to order. (632-4636) FastFacts information service by fax, dial 1-800-366-0476 and request Catalog #5 for a list of LikeNew document numbers. Sorry I can't be more helpful. //daniel on autopilot in paradise \X/ powered by intel and motorola

Andre, I'm using a NEC 1401P3A multi-sync with my bridgeboard but haven't hooked it up to my Amiga 2000HD. Sincerely, (Mr.) Gayle Lee Fairless 'Perfessor Fearless' from the Rocket City! via AutoPilot 1.03a

Hi, Thanks to all who helped me out on the MultiSyncII question. Unfortunately, by the time I spoke to the guy, it had been sold. Thanks again for your help. -Andre

Bad luck as to the sold MultiSync. Nice monitors – I'm using one at the moment (on a PC 🙁 Much nicer than the nasty Panasonic thing on my Amiga :-(((((etc. Matty. (SFA*) * Stealing father's account. Disclaimer: These are my opinions – ignore them.

There was someone in the Compuserve classifieds. IBM section under the monitors, printers, modems section selling NECIIA's for less than $200 a few weeks ago. He had several. You might go look. Rocky

Hi Andre, I have used a MultiSync II with my A1200 and IBM clones. I have used it with CGA, EGA, VGA, and most Amgia AGA modes without problems. Well that is until lightning came in thru the modem an fried all the boards in my clone and knocked the Red out of the monitor. A friend also has used a MultiSync II for years and likes it very much. This is for anyone out there in the "know". As to the missing Red in my monitor. He have traced the problem to the board that has the video cable plugs into. Does anyone know where I could get a replacement board?
