RAM for sale!

4 Meg Simm
72 pin 4 x 9
Dual sided.
I cannot use this RAM in my A4000 since it is dual sided, but other models
may accept this type. Check your owner's manual first if you are
interested. I figured I would offer it to my fellow Amigans before I
posted it to other computer users. $120 -> paid $165 3 months ago.

Hey… did you know that you can rip off (well, carefully de-solder) the extra
4 ram chips on the back side of your 4 meg SIMM to make it fit in the A4000?
This is what I did with one of our A4000 setups. The additional chips are for
parity… which is not used by the Amiga.
Just thought you would like to know… 🙂
Is that right? Hmmm… That sounds pretty scary to me! What if it
doesn't work! Hehehe.

I have removed the parity RAM chips from about 30 different SIMMS… not a
single problem… and by taking the RAM chips off the back side, providing you
did not destroy them getting them off, you can replace the RAM chips on 1 meg
SIMM modules and get some cheap RAM. 🙂
That's interesting, and I do believe you. But its still scary! :>

Dual sided.<< Shame it can't be used in the A4000. Can it be used on the
Emplant? If so, I would be interested. Reply here or E-mail. Thanks.

EMPLANT does not make use of any RAM SIMMs installed on it.
Jim already answered your question. I have an Emplant myself.
