I saw your segment on Discovery's "Next Step" last night.
Congratulations on some well deserved publicity!

It never meant too much to me until yesterday, when an angry ex-boyfriend
walked into the local Burger King and shot his ex-girlfriend. My niece works
at the place, so it all seems a little more real now.
Somebody just unloaded a gun into the window of a building on my block. This
is in the most expensive neighborhood in San Francisco, which is a city with
relatively little crime to start with. Man! At least no body was hurt.

Not at all! Pretty good guess Huh? I figured it was that or Nob Hill which is
pretty cool too, as its close to all the haps downtown. I used to live on
Broadway + Pierce, big old grey Victorian structure, (built in 1896). Union
Street was one of my favorite haunts.
I live on Pacific at Franklin, in the big blue Italianade Victorian
(1886) right on the corner. I love it here, but am thinking about
buying, so I'll probably end up away from this neighborhood since the
cheapest decent houses go for over a million smackers (as, I'm sure,
you know).

Just a couple of blocks away. Its nice there no doubt. Finding a
comparable place to buy would be beyond the means of most animators.
<g> But the city's great and there are some flats in the area, and
down the hill. Just depends on what you want and how much you can put
down, I guess. If you're renting now, that's not exactly cheap
either, so maybe…

Man, I used to hang out there religeously several (8 or so) years ago.
I'd love to get together there. My number is 673-0812, give me a
call anytime.
Relatively little? Just about everyone on my block (including me) has had
their car stolen in the past year.
Sheesh. Reminds me of an old Jules Fieffer film with Alan Arkin about crime in
NYC. I forget the title, but boy was it prophetic.

MAN! Sorry to hear about your car. I've had my car broken into once, but
never stolen. I would say San Francisco has the least crime of the cities I've
lived in (NYC, Boston, Atlanta, Miami, LA), besides Munich, Germany. But this
IS the US, and crime is here to stay, I guess.

No big deal. It was last March, and the car was recovered (albeit with about
$1500 in damage). Most of my neighbors haven't been so lucky.

was stolen here a couple of years ago, but it turned out to be only a

It sure would be "Little Murders". I'm over at Jack's house and we just looked
it up in Cinemania. It was written by Feiffer for the theater, and the Arkin
directed it in the 1971 movie, starring Arkin, Vincent Gardenia, Elliott Gould,
and Donald Sutherland.
Watch out for snipers.
