[reply to # 111887, already scrolled] Larry, "Have you put a /BGEXEC parameter on the end of the Device=vsvga.sys line in CONFIG.SYS?" No. "What video card/chipset/os2 driver are you using?" Diamond Viper PCI (p9000) – OS/2 driver supplied by Diamond. "My understanding is that some vendor os/2 video drivers don't support background graphics." It works just fine for AutoCAD 12c3. "FWIW, the latest Vibrant drivers includes a "null" driver – no graphics/no background execution problem (for background slave rendering.)" I am using this and it makes no difference. Stephen Grisez

I found that I needed the /bgexec parameter on the device=vsvga.sys line in order to run 3ds in the backgroumd on a diamond stealth 24. You might want to give it a try. LAM

Larry, "I found that I needed the /bgexec parameter on the device=vsvga.sys line in order to run 3ds in the backgroumd on a diamond stealth 24." I don't have a "device=vsvga.sys" in my config.sys. Also, I am using a Diamond Viper PCI. I have lots of lines refering to the Viper. If you are really interested I could send you my OS/2 config.sys e-mail. Stephen Grisez

The full line would look like: Device=C:\os2\vsvga.sys Of course with the Viper, who knows what driver is actually being used. Go ahead and E-mail me a copy of your config.sys. Also include a brief description of your system configuration. LAM
