I got something of that kind when I was using AApro with the QEMM QPDMI virtual memory manager. I solved that by removing the QEMM manager. I thing there were a conflict between the QEMM manager and the AApro manager. I don't know about OS2 manager. Maybe it's a good hint for solving your problem. Pierre Menard Montreal

I find it quite handy in being able to bring things in from Windows programs such as Corel Draw. One quirk that I found is that, if you have a CD-ROM drive attached to system, it _*MUST HAVE*_ a data (not audio) disk physically in the drive, otherwise Ani will bomb with an abnormal termination message similar to what you've got. You also have to make sure that the VESA driver is loaded into the DOS session that you're brining Ani up in. You can do it by a line in the OS2 AUTOEXEC.BAT file, or have a separate autoexec file (see the settings notebook for the DOS_AUTOEXEC parameter to specify a different file to replace the standard AUTOEXEC.BAT), which is the method I use. I would not initially try to get it working with anything other than a VESA driver. Other hints or what have you: The Ani session must be full screen. I've never been successful (apparently due to my video driver) with getting Ani – or any other DOS graphics program – working in an OS2 window. The DPMI_MEMORY_LIMIT setting in the settings notebook is important. Unlike any other protected mode application I've come across, Ani wants (& takes) all the DPMI memory when it's loaded. I use around 6 megs for this setting, and it runs fine for what I do. Also, while I don't think it makes any difference, I run with the DPMI_DOS_API setting at ENABLED rather than the default AUTO. Other settings that i use (where the deviate from defaults or common values): DOS_BACKGROUND_EXECUTION – ON (this is the standard default, but many try turning this to OFF) VIDEO_ONDEMAND_MEMORY – OFF VIDEO_RETRACE_EMULATION – OFF VIDEO_ROM_EMULATION – OFF Hope that this helps.
