I've never had that problem with W/I Morph, but as I told you recently – if you upgraded to the *_very latest_* version, Blackbelt told me it was very buggy and being overhauled. This was a few weeks ago. FWIW, I'm using 1.06b. Perhaps you can get that version from them. They used to be available via CIS as "Blackbelt". Regards, BILL

I tried out WinImages Morph 1.10 and 1.18. These are the only two versions that are available here in Germany. I tried out to Go to Blackbelt but this is not a CIS forum (that`s what WinCIM said). Any other idea? Michael – Michael Bassier, Written 05-Aug-1994 @ 08:42:32 Using: Windows NavCIS PRO 1.2

Michael, I meant their CIS * address * was Blackbelt ( or at leat used to be). I don't know if they have a forum. Why don't you call them ? I haven't talked to them in ages (for TS), but here's the info: Black Belt Systems 398 Johnson Road Glasgow, MT 59230 USA 1-800-852-6442 1-406-367-5513 9am-5pm Mountain Time Regards, BILL

Thank you Bill. I`ll try to call them by phone. I hate to call to the USA. The connections are not very good and the americans can speak english so fast… 🙂 I`ll call them to listen to the nice voice that says: "please hold the line… We`re going to transfer your money to your phone company…" 🙂 Michael – Michael Bassier, Written 08-Aug-1994 @ 08:47:34 Using: Windows NavCIS PRO 1.2

FYI, Blackbelts Morph 2.0 fix is shipping… I got it last week (I haven't had time to look at it yet). David
#116605From: M. G. BATCHELORAug 5, 1994 5:28 PM
I know it is shipping, and when I called for the upgrade a few weeks ago, I was told that I could buy it – but there were a number of problems with it discovered after it got out, and they were rushing to correct them….so I held off for now. I was curious if the FIXED version was now shipping, since I haven't called them back yet. BILL

Yes, the "fixed" version is done (both morph and fx). David

<< Yes, the "fixed" version is done (both morph and fx). >> Thanks David. Any comments on either yet ? BILL

I installed both but have yet to use either. I need to scan through the docs (I WANT HARDCOPY) and see what changes have been made. If I get to any of these soon, I'll let you know. David
#116684From: M. G. BATCHELORAug 6, 1994 10:31 AM
Thanks. I very much agree on the hardcopy, in fact – the lack of which has caused me to use the programs (especially F/X) very little. I hate on-line docs (only). BILL

Have you looked at ASDG's Elastic Reality? I have been using HSC Morph for a year now and find it somewhat "low res" in the positionining the morph keys. You can get higher res but the placement of all the keys is manual. The ER product places hundreds of keys automatically for higher position res. I was iompressed by this. The ER product also has an impressive list of credits from their SGI version. I am considering getting this to improve my morphing quality from the HSC product. It has an introductory price of $295. Regular list is $495

I've been planning on getting Elastic Reality (on reputation alone, I haven't actually seen it… I wonder if they have a demo version?). I didn't think it was shipping yet. Do you know if it is? If so, do you have a phone # for them? Thanks, David

David, ER is phenomenal…. it beats all others hands down. We've been running the SGI version for a while now, and it's fast easy and phenomenal.. You won't be sorry you picked it up. Paul

Thanks. If its shipping, I'll try to pick it up (the special price will help). David

ER phone# 608-273-6585 No demos were available but the one they were showing had a bunch of popular scenes from top commercials and movies. I'm undecided on this because I have a morph package now and would like to get the wacom tablet too but only have so much cash. I'm leaning toward the software because the tablets always seem to have show specials running. The literature states the prerelease ends 8-1-94 but I saw a forum message from ASDG on the BP+ forum yesterday stating the deal was good anytime before shipdate which is scheduled for 8-15. I'm wondering whether the prerelease deal was a flop and the ER company was relying on those funds to MFG.???? Never can tell these days. One thing is certain and that compared to HSC digital Morph and Grifon Morph the UI of elastic reality was definitly superior.

Thanks, I'll call and see how long the special price is good for. David

David, I've had several close looks at your whale piece on the demo tape and I just want you to know that I think it was a very dirty trick of yours to submit that underwater video footage of a whale and pretend that you actually created it in 3DS. We all know that there's no way model such a creature without NURBS or Metaballs (whatever they are) and you can't create that natural motion by keyframing. It is also not possible to get that whale skin — with all the nicks and defects — out of a dinky DOS computer. Come on . . . Alec Jason <g>

Video footage?…. What Video footage?…. (while trying to hide the underwater video camera behind my back) David

[Elasic Reality] Are you implying there is a version _other_ than the SGI version? One for the PC maybe? That would be awsome! Tell me its true! — James — MAP —

>>[Elastic Reality] for the PC maybe? That would be awsome! I guess you missed their booth at Siggraph. I believe they now have a PC version in the $500 range. I still haven't gotten that far in my literature pile. If I find the flier I'll drop a line with more details. – Dave

>> I guess you missed their booth at Siggraph. << I must have. I just looked through my literature and could not find anything on Elastic Reality. I may have passed their booth on the presumption that they do not make a PC version. Live and learn. — James — MAP —

Yes its true! Also for the MAC. Scheduled shipping: 8/15/94 I ordered it this afternoon. The price is $299 plus shipping.

>> Also for the MAC. Scheduled shipping: 8/15/94 I ordered it this >> afternoon. The price is $299 plus shipping. Yo, I just got a thing in the mail offering "Elastic Reality" (MAC) for $99. Why they think I would care for a Mac'Trash software I don't know but it makes me wonder why is the PC version $299!

Thanks Don!! I will file that in my purchase queue, which has grown considerably thanks to the Yost Group and others at Siggraph '94! (No complaints 🙂 — James — MAP —

James, I think the $299 price is a pre-release price and it goes up on Aug 15. tjl
