Well, perhaps. I think if I had WinCim back then, it would have been easier to teach. I spent MANY hours developing an ATO training course. Do you use WinCim, if so do use the AutoPilot feature? I just upgraded to 1.3 and can't seem to get the AutoPilot to work…oh well, perhaps ATO wasn't so bad afterall. 😉 Jamie

No Jamie……sorry. Actually they had an entirely new interface written for the CIM products. It's called the HMI for Human Machine Interface to allow the fancy new features and multi-tasking in some areas. One of the things they forgot to tell the programmers about was the SYSOP software running in conjunction with the ACCESS software on each forum. Guess what the CIM's CAN'T do…<g>. Well….that ain't entirely true. You can kick them into terminal mode and get back to the command interface. Then they act just like all the other brain dead programs we all know and love. So I just use TAPSYS, and have been for several years. Handling the message base while reading the messages is really handy. BTW. I still got (someplace) that ATO script file you wrote for joining new forums and setting up the parameters. We also got a new Product Manager. Bill has moved on to greener pastures through promotion. And I've been trying to get the destructions for the CIM products for awhile now. So far no joy. Seems the printed manuals are in more scarce supply than the SYSOP manuals. Even Bob Henderson ain't got one of them yet. I can go download a copy of WinCIM (they got them available to us), and give it a try. Maybe I can come up with something.

Hey, don't worry about it. I just figured if you were playing with it, you might have discovered the same problem. Yeah, I knew about GO ASCII (and GO HMI for returning to WinCIM). I really like WinCIM, I think CI$ is truly going in the right direction. J-me

Jamie Pardon me for jumping in. What is this AutoPilot feature for WinCim you mention? Thanks Mike

There is an undocumented feature you can enable called Autopilot. You do this by adding the line 'Auto-Pilot=ON' to the WinCim.ini. Problem is, it dosn't seem to be working right now (or I'm doing it wrong.) I'll let you know, if I can get it to work. J-me

Jamie Greaaaaat! Why this feature hasn't been widely publicized is beyond me. Thanks for the tip. What problems are you having? I'm able to retrieve messages between multiple forums with no problems. I haven't tried sending messages or rec/send mail yet though. I'm using v1.3 as well. Let me know if I can help. Mike 🙂

Heeheeheehee…. I found out a little on the AutoPilot for WinCIM………it's an undocumented feature in 1.5 as it hasn't been really tested and wasn't expected to be enabled until version 2.0 (which is supposedly due out shortly…..<g>). Looks like someone spilled the beans a little early, and maybe that's why it sometimes bombs out.
