TWAIN access from DOS?

Does anybody know of a program that will allow me to access a TWAIN scanning
device from DOS? Is TWAIN a strictly Windows format?
Thanks!

I believe so. My TWAIN stuff installed after a Logitech hand color scanner was
purchased, and I didn't see anything about DOS in the software install manuals.

TWAIN is Windoze-only. In fact, the "W" in the "TWAIN" acronym stands for
"Windows," if I remember right (it was a rather contrived acronym). TWAIN
involves .DLLs and Windoze GUI APIs and DDE and all sorts of Windoze-specific
stuff that simply cannot possibly be duplicated in a DOS environment. Sorry.
I thought TWAIN was "Technology Without An Interesting Name", really!
