#Storms

Don,
I'm getting sick and tired of FLorida taking all of our tropical storms and
hurricanes away. There was a time when we got hit fairly regularly, but lately
it seems like ya'll keep catching them.
We even named most of our local teams after hurricanes and now we can't seem to
get any up this way. 🙁

P.S. – Hope all is going well, and you're riding the storm out safe and sound.
I'm in Jacksonville, Paul. The sun is shining brightly as I type this.
Tallahassee, 160 miles west is getting the rain. We seem to be missing the
rain by about 50 miles. Don't get me wrong, though; it is the rain season and
it rains every afternoon an inch or so from the usual thunderstorms.
Don,
I didn't realize that you were missing it. I know you're in JAX. but it looked
like the Eastern edge of the storm was really kicking it up. 50 miles on a
satellite map isn't much. I guess I had my distances off. Oh well……. lack
of sleep will do that you know. In any case, it looks like Florida is really
getting it's fair share of storms. We've had an inordinate amount just from the
fallout. It may be that you're in a nice spot. The storms hit from the Gulf and
skirt up NE through GA.

We've been lucky here. Everytime I recall a cane developes in the Atlantic and
heads our way the High pressure front is also heading our way from the
Northwest. Just luck, I guess. Maybe this year.
Its starting to drizzle here now so we might get some of it. Nothing to
concern ourselves over.
Paul,
_I_ am the one getting all the rain! Don has it easy up there in JAX. I bet
the temperature even gets down in the 80's at night at his place.
Did you get that copy of The Artifact I sent you? Whaddaya think? We put that
one together in about eight hours (quicker than usual).
tjl
I knew someone down there was getting some intense weather. We're pretty far up
the coast and we've been inundated with rain from the storms so I made the bad
assumption that most everyone around there was getting hammered.
I actually enjoy bad storms and look forward to seeing a few every year. It
serves as a purging effect. The power of nature is phenomenal and does a great
job of putting life in proper perspective.
I haven't seen the copy of your newsletter yet. I'll definately keep an eye out
for it. Eight hours? Sounds like something I'd do. 🙂 As soon as I get it,
I'll be sure to yell out.
Thanks for sending one this way.

Paul,
I actually _do_ like storms but the lightning has a disturbing effect on my
monitor!

Actually now that you mention it, I've been looking for a piece of software
that would generate realistic lightning for years. So lightning effects on my
monitor happen to be what I'm in the market for. <BG>

Mike,
I know, I've seen it. Unfortunately I need lightning so real that I can
composite it into actual storm footage. But thanks for mentioning it ….
there's so many new IPAS routines, it's hard to keep track.
Paul
Your welcome
