Jonas, You said that Gus wrote a message addressing this, but I can't find it – I assume it's off the board now. Is there any record of that message? Could I get a copy or how could I get in touch with Gus? – I searched for his name, but it came up with none found.

I just got a bunch of stuff from them. Get a hold of a magazine called "MIDI". It just came out and it's full of goodies. It's (617) 965-6900.

I'm right here. I just don't know what you're talking about. This thread started with your message and I'm not sure what you want to know. By judging the subject (something rare here) you might want to know if the PAR can be programmed. Of course it can. I don't know, however, if DPS will release the specs though. What is that you want to know?

Gus, Ken was asking << can the PAR be treated as another device in an Authoring/Kiosk system.. ie. user presses a key and it triggers a playback of a piece of a prerecorded flic because the PAR can do realtime (smoooooth) playback? >> (something along those lines).. jonas[adesk]

My biggest question is can I control playback of an animation using the PAR. I need to write a program which controls the playing of animations (speeding up and slowing down) based on user input. The development language must have enough features to read input from an analog i/o card. Someone at Pyros told me that this wasn't currently possible. Are there libraries available to control the PAR?

I know exactly what you want. The answer is no in its current incarnation. It is, however, simple for me to come up with an API or whatever. Let me think about this.

Gus, I too, am interested in a PAR API. Maybe a callable library for Borland and/or Watcom? I just need to be able to toggle recording on/off from my own program (wierd project). Bailey
