Does anyone know a good source for texturemaps for the planets, some galaxies with galactic gas in color, the lunar surface both back side and front? More of Earth? I have created a few from NASA sources but the results arn't great. Any on the Texture Universe? With a name like that it must have a spectacular galactic collection, right?

Don, You might want to look at Schreiber Inst. Fractle Textures IPAS. I have been experimenting with that one a lot lately and there are some very interesting things you can do with that. Limmitless actually. -Lee

I collect these for the Rendering Plant BBS [816-525-5614]. I got a lot of good ones off of the Graphics Alternative CD-ROM ($40) [510-528-1652]. I'll put a bunch more of them on there if you want to get on-line. We sure keep a colossal bunch of new and excellent meshes there, too. Jim

Jim, Try looking in the astronomy forum, I found some great galaxy shots for some work I did on a "Cosmos" like intro to a video. They're in color and some of them are at good resolutions, and they're free! Cheers, Tom
