What's this about rel.4. ? I've just (half a year) got rel.3 and am really happy with it and know I see the words RELEASE 4 pop-up in this forum. Is it there already ? What's new compared to Rel.3 ? How much will the upgrade be , etc. Marco

Marco, << Look great, but when is it due ? >> We said end of Sept at Siggraph, and this weekend at CADCAMP we said end of Sept./early Oct. Our Beta program started and the docs are progressing. I don't think that the actual shipdate will be clear to us until later in September.

We are an animation/multimedia production house. We can press our own CD's. We build our own machines. We Admin our own network. We develop vertical market applications. We have C coders on staff. We use several different flavors/brands of clone motherboards. We use PCI and sometime VLB (eek!). Use highend video cards. ect. ect. ect. We deal with James Murphy up north for most of our stuff. I personally have been using 3DS since R2.0 came out. I REALLY WANT TO GET ON THE BETA PROGRAM!!! What does it take? Who do I have to brown-nose <g>? Blah Blah Whimper Whine We have a habit for doing the impossible. We run 3DSr3.0 over a WFW/NTAS network with no problems. Everybody that told me it was impossible was too late. We fixed the problems ourselves. Please consider us. Chris Norman A.M. Labs 214)960-6862 Addison, TX 10A.M. -Midnight nearly every dang day CDT

Hi Chris, << What does it take to be on the Beta Program? >> It's too late to get on it now :-(.. However, the beta program participants have tended to be forum regulars who have regularly contributed *very concise* help, insights, and tips on ASOFT. Also, those who upload great images, share their techniques and contribute to the SIGGRAPH reel and NAB reel get reviewed for possible participation. Gary runs his own beta program and hand picks his beta team, and now Adesk runs a parallel beta-program with selected ASOFT members following the above guidelines.
