Lots of times. What are you trying to do?
Greg Pyros
Greg I think I solved my own problem. What I am trying to do is this; have a
backround with a targa still, then animate a logo over it where it tilts
forward and then swoops away to one side. The still still holds its native
position while everthing else moves. The only color that worked for me was a
completly saturated blue, (red=0, green=0, blue=255), for the areas that I
wanted to be croma-keyed with my Targa board on the moving animation. Have you
used any color #'s that work just as well?
Chuck:
Have you tried just creating an alpha matte?
Greg Pyros
Greg. No I haven't, what will the alpha matte do for me?
Chuck:
It provides a _perfect_ key, every time. I wrote a chapter on it for the
upcoming 3DS Special Effects book for New Riders Publishing.
In a nutshell, just render with either 32 bit Targas or split alpha and
composite with that.
Or take a look at our "Auto-Matt Generator Chroma Key IPAS Routine" (the only
reason it is not yet shipping is that we haven't been able to condense that
down to 6 letters for an IPAS routine! <g>

it's on the wishlist.

What a mind-reader! Thanks!

Greg:
When is that Special Effects book do out? Also would you mind if I called you
at your office on this? The reason I say this is that I tried to do the Alpha
mask and for what I was doing, it failed!
