Does anyone know if and when a version of 3.1 will be out for the A1200? Also could I buy a copy of 3.1 and install the software on a HD for my CD32? Peter M. D'Angelo Cruising Over NY on AutoPilot

1200: unknown. CD32: 3.1 is a ROM upgrade as well as a Workbench upgrade, so, no, you can't just install the software. I think that you must have the ROM to use the disks, but it *might* be the case the you could at least have the WB upgrade, though you still wouldn't be all the way to 3.1 (just 3.0 and a half). I opened my original CD32's case (it arrived non-funstional and opened it to reset the socketed chips) and found the ROM was marked 3.1. Jim R. Ollick Using AP from Bergenfield, NJ

Come to think of it, that could almost be the same 3.1 KS you'd find on the other platforms, though I'm not sure of it. I feel stupid for not remembering that. The driving force for 3.1 was CD32. Most features that were added were mostly for CD32, though time was spent getting ECS and OCS bugs and other bugs out as well. What you need to do, if you can, is to run c:version on your CD32. See what the KS revision is. Then do the same on a 3.1 A4000 or A3000 or A2000 to compare. I think it is 40.70 for 3.1, but am not sure. Dale L. It is 40.70 on my 4000/040 with 3.1. I'll have to try it on my CD32…. I'm back, and I couldn't get my CD32 to have a Workbench screen or CLI in order to check the version. Oh well, if you have a way to get it, let me know. Jim R. Ollick Using AP from Bergenfield, NJ

James, You can't get to Workbench on CD32 unless you have a special CD32 disk with Workbench on it–or you have an SX-1 that will allow you change your CD32 into an Amiga 12000 w/CD32 drive. I have been playing with a CD32/SX-1 for a while now at Scala and they seem to work quite well. The SX-1 packaging has been updated so that they connect firmly to the CD32 as opposed to the original release. -mark= Otto Pilot Engaged..

My 3000 returns Kickstart 40.68, Workbench 40.42 but then it is ECS not AGA. Matt Straney, 3 hours late, without your luggage from Grand Ledge — on AutoPilot ——–>
