I called. They said they don't have a complete list available, but would
fax me what they have. They said the brochure they'll mail will be more
complete.
I suspect there are piles of junk that will (esentially) sell by the pound
and that there are large capital items (like the AS400) that they have
inventoried and will sell individually.

Yes, you're right. I wrote a story for tomorrow's paper. An old Ibm,
an old Vax, old furniture, a floor scrubber. They don't expect to raise more
than $250,000. What they are really trying to do is empty the building so they
can terminate the lease, whichis costing CBM $8,000 a day.

I thought the lease was terminated when they declared bankruptcy.
Otherwise, it'd be an asset — my understanding is that they somehow
negotiated a declining rate over a long term (99 years?).

Jerry,
while I'm no longer an optimist, it is amazing what a capital injection
can create, given the pessimism during a corporate collapse. True, it
usually carries a 90% failure rate, but that is double the success rate
for a new business startup. Why else would an existing bankrupt
enterprise carry a premium over a new startup?
Just a thought.

Does this mean that there is no sale to another company. I understood that
commodore was sold to some foreign company possibly Commodore UK.

Commodore…as of this point in time…has not been sold to anyone.
Bids have been taken, but the process has not yet been completed. Commodore UK
managers did make a bid…but it, like the other bids, has not yet been
accepted.
