I guess I'll ask you all this again. Can an Amiga user hook up with America Online?! I'm just wondering,so I'd appreciate an answer. Thank you.. Padilla

Dan, My room-mate uses AOL, and I asked him, then he asked AOL. AOL is set up for PC and Mac use. The same company that set up AOL set up Q-Link for Amiga and C64 use. I'm no expert about it, but that is the way I under- stood it. Mark A. Freese

Mark, QLink was ALWAYS strictly for the C-64. No other machine could access it. Even the C128 could only get online there in C64 mode. —Betty

Betty, I wonder what QLink meant when they asked me if I wanted a disk with their amiga software? Another curiousity is why they have Amiga sections in their software libraries? Mark A. Freese

I dunno – and I haven't asked in a very long time about Amiga access – but the last time I asked, they said it was for C64 access only. I am still a member, and I've always wondered why they had Amiga sections but could only be accessed by C64s. I used to download to the C64 and then transfer the stuff to the Amiga with the 5 1/4" drive that was once available, and Disk2Disk software. —Betty

It use to be easier to get a library setup for a SIG, and there were one of more tranfer programs for moving the downloaded files to other systems. Dan, You'd have to ask America Online….I'm of the opinion that it requires special software, and if so…I've never heard of any for the Amiga. But ask them to be sure. Don

Despite MANY pleas from Amiga users connected (via 64) to the QLink system, Q has always stoutly resisted making any offering to the Amiga community. Seems to me, that was a pity: many users leaving 64-land for the Amiga would have been pleased to keep their Q contacts. Oddly, there was a library area for Amiga programs. Getting them across from the 64 to the Amiga was a non-trivial process, but a surprising number of subscribers did exactly that. –Jim
